HOW TO ADJUST THE INDENTS AND TABS IN MICROSOFT WORD

How to adjust the Indent and tabs in Microsoft Word

There are two types of Indents, and changes to the indentation can be made on those two types. They   include paragraphs and bullet point. There is a distinct procedure on these two types. The various ways     you can make changes to the indentation on Microsoft word are discussed below.

Exactly first line indentation with tab
The first-line indent can at all times be achieved using the "Tab" key on the keyboard . T modify the size of the first line indent or the whole paragraph, see below.
In Microsoft Word, the default setting of the "first -line indent " is set at "0.1 ".

Tip :- Pressing TAB multiple times increases the indent each time it's pressed.

Indent a paragraph with keyboard shortcut. A Full paragraph can be indented using the Ctrl +M keyboard shortcut, and pressing the keyboard shortcut more than once will indent the paragraph further.

TIP :- Tip you can also use CTRL+SHIFT +M to reverse the indent.

Adjusting indents Through the Ruler

If the size of the paragraph indent is to be changed, the ruler feature can be employed. This is located just below the menu bar and looks like the image given below.

This feature may not be visible . For its visibility and more information about it, refer to the document titled" Enabling the Ruler". Toward the left side of the ruler, look for indent markers that resemble an hourglass, like the image below.

The Top marker controls the first line indent, and the middle marker controls the first line indent, and the middle marker controls the hanging indent . The bottom marker control the left indent . You can click-and -drag each marker  the right or left to adjust these indents.

TIP :-

To change the indentation for an entire document , select all text then adjust the indent spacing in the ruler as detailed above.

NOTE:-

If a large indent is created when pressing the  Tab and adjusting the indent on the Ruler doesn't work,  adjust the Left Tab stop in the Ruler.
